Again, Boat Mishap hits Lokoja, Kills Four Passengers in Ganaja, Kabawa.

Another boat carrying passengers in Ganaja Village has killed one person while others on board have been severely injured.
Sources said the boat lost balance, with one of the passenger having to hold an electric pole, got electrocuted in the process and died.
Efforts was made to rescue other Passengers in the process who were struggling and trying to scamper for safety.
In a similar incident, Three students of Kogi State Polytechnic have lost their lives in a boat Mishap while returning from the school after their examination.
The accident which occurred around Kabawa was as a result of overloading. An eye witness Mohammad Abubakar said "they used a small canoe that should have carried four people but eight people. When they got to the middle of the water, the small boy couldn't paddle the canoe anymore and that was the reason they fell into the water".
Canoe operators are appealing to relevant government agencies to provide safety jackets for them to reduce the risk of crossing the water.

When Contacted, the Head of Public relations of the Polytechnic, Mrs Uredo Omale said that the Institution is yet to get concrete information about the incident, hence they can't speak authoritatively about it.
Kogi State has been the epicenter of the 2022 flood with this year’s flood some people said and by devastation have surpassed the 2012 episode.
The flood has not only submerged houses, roads were equally submerged as the water overflowed it banks with people left with the option of canoes and ferry boats as alternative means of movement.
