KOGI GOV. ELECTION: Group Seek Powershift To Kogi West

The Leadership of *KOGI WEST VISION INITIATIVES* , a Pressure Group established to demand for POWER SHIFT to Kogi West Senatorial District in the next political dispensation has enjoined kogites, particularly the good people of Kogi West Senatorial District to support the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello to institutionalize EQUITY, JUSTICE & FAIRNESS in the Governance and Leadership patterns of Kogi State. This was contained in a Statement made available to LEADER'S GIST in Lokoja, the President Chief Babajide Olorunmaiye said the group has agreed to support the retention of the Governorship position to the Central Senatorial District in the spirit of EBIGO. In the statement, the group took time to explain the concept of EBIGO. He said "For those who still don't know, EBIGO is an acronym for EB.....EBIRA IG......IGALA O.......OKUN. Each component represents not just the Tribes mentioned above, but the Three (3) Senatorial Districts in the State. He further explained the model of leadership and governance in Kogi. He said "The IGALAS has done Sixteen (16) years in Lugard House and we are supporting the EBIRAS to equally complete their own Sixteen (16) years after which power will then shift to the Western Senatorial District (OKUN) who will also hold sway for Sixteen years. This is what EBIGO stands For. The EBIGO AGENDA should come in form of 16/16/16. This is Equity, Justice and Fairness". Babajide added that "We in KOGI WEST VISION INITIATIVES aligned with the recent position of the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole on the need to allow an Ebirra successor of Governor Yahaya Bello so as to enable the Central Senatorial District complete their fair share of EBIGO AGENDA. To crown it all, we sincerely appreciate Governor Yahaya Bello for the ongoing Festival of Projects in the State. Kogi West Senatorial District is most appreciative of the First Flyover Bridge in Lokoja, the State Capital, the Ultra Modern Specialist Hospital in GEGU, the Construction of major Township Roads across the Seven Local Governments in the West and the GYB Model Schools in Adankolo, Lokoja. More importantly, the group has described Governor Yahaya Bello as a DETRIBALISED Leader who ensure the Zoning of the SENATE to Yagba Federal Constituency for Equity, Justice and Fairness. The Rice Mill in Ejiba is another testimony of the Governor's love for Kogi West. Special mentioned must be made on appointment of Okun Sons and Daughters in Strategic positions since the beginning of the new direction Government. The Ultra Modern Hospital in Isanlu and the construction of Kabba Township Roads with Street light are legacy Projects of GYB in the Western Senatorial District. Governor Yahaya Bello's giant stride in the Western Senatorial District is unprecedented in the history of Kogi State. Is it the construction of a world-class Civic Center in Lokoja named after President Muhammadu Buhari we should talk about or the Renovation and Remodeling of Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja? The Embankment of the River Niger at Kabawa Area to prevent flooding is another project in Kogi West Senatorial District.
